NYC-based Opportunity

Dwight is looking for a diligent, detail-oriented, and highly efficient individual to scale up a robust finance department to support our rapidly growing business.

 

This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to leverage their experience to professionalize an accounting function for a leading lender to today’s top growth stage companies. The ideal candidate will be meticulously organized, trustworthy/reliable, while actively recommending actions from analysis and exhibiting a growth mindset by improving upon current processes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage budget, financial forecasts, and month-end / year-end close processes for presentation to company leadership
  • Run point on Dwight Funding annual audit and biannual field examinations
  • Manage accounts payable and vendor relationships
  • Build out and optimize accounting policies, procedures and internal controls that promote accuracy and efficiency
  • Collaborate with other departments to inform other strategic projects, as well help drive high priority system initiatives and improvements
  • Prepare general pro-forma financial statements, as well as journal entries, GLs, account analyses, reconciliations, revenue & expense accruals and variance analyses
  • Maintain and ensure compliance of licensing, as well as selected corporate filings and renewals
  • Support company financing and treasury, including execution of transactions as needed, including bank facilities, debt financing, documentation review and covenants

About You

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience. You have a demonstrated record of success
  • You likely have a BSc degree in Accounting. Being an Excel expert is table stakes
  • You have a strong understanding of GAAP and financial acumen with direct experience in managing a monthly closing process
  • You demonstrate strong attention to detail. Nothing gets past you
  • You’re known for meticulous organization skills. Having a system in place helps you work efficiently and effectively
  • You’re growth-oriented and will flag process issues / inefficiencies and take the initiative to implement solutions in partnership with other parts of the business
  • You have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment. You can reconcile when something requires precision and accuracy vs when 80% gets you to the desired outcome

Nice to Haves

  • Professional certification such as CPA
  • Working knowledge of Excel VBA, Python and/or Tableau
